A new Horizon Europe project brings together 16 partners from across Europe to develop and demonstrate interoperable wireless charging solutions that make electric mobility more convenient, inclusive and grid-friendly.
Officially launched in Brussels on 17–18 June 2026 and coordinated by ERTICO – ITS Europe, WiBiCharge is a 42-month Innovation Action funded under the Horizon Europe programme and the 2ZERO Partnership.
The project will develop and demonstrate bidirectional wireless charging systems, enabling vehicles not only to charge automatically but also to return electricity to the grid through Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) functionalities.
Over the next three and a half years, the consortium will deliver 19 innovative solutions covering wireless charging technologies, system architecture, user services, grid integration and deployment models. Demonstrations will take place in Stockholm, Dachau and Milan.
